We designed a website for Glamorgan Voluntary Service (GVS), which is the county voluntary council for the Vale of Glamorgan.. The project involved the design and development of a medium sized bilingual website.

Designing the website for GVS was about building a digital platform that reflects the charity’s vital role at the heart of the Vale of Glamorgan’s voluntary and community sector. Our goal was to create a website that makes it easy for people, groups, and organisations to access support, find information, and connect with opportunities to make a difference.

We began by working closely with the GVS team to understand their services, audiences, and communication needs. The charity supports a wide range of groups — from volunteers and local organisations to community leaders — so the website needed to serve many purposes while remaining simple and accessible for everyone.

From this foundation, we developed a clean, professional design focused on usability. Clear navigation and structured page layouts help users quickly find key information, whether they’re looking for funding advice, volunteering opportunities, or governance resources. The design uses friendly, approachable visuals and colours that align with the GVS brand, reflecting the organisation’s openness and community spirit.

Accessibility and inclusivity were central throughout the build. We ensured the site met modern accessibility standards, with easy-to-read text, high-contrast visuals, and compatibility with assistive technologies. On the technical side, the website is fully responsive, fast-loading, and optimised for search engines — helping people across the Vale of Glamorgan discover GVS’s work online.

The result is a website that not only informs but empowers. It provides a digital hub for connection, collaboration, and community action — helping GVS continue its mission to strengthen the voluntary sector and support the people who make a difference in the Vale of Glamorgan.
